One of the ideas floated (by conservatives, mostly) to reduce American medical costs is to have surgeries done in foreign countries where they are charper.

Honest to goodness, they talk hopefully of the "advantages" of putting old, frail sick people on airplanes and sending them to India for knee and hip replacements and even heart bypass surgeries. I read that right here on USNWR on a different day.
