Sex Shop In Historic District Is An Entrepreneur's Revenge

Back to blog

There's really no big deal about that!

there's no big deal about having a sex shop in Old Town Alexandria because the shop doesn't look like selling a sex toys or something. Actually, it looks like a lingerie boutique. So, I'm not against about that.

I find the whole episode interesting

I'm a real estate agent in Washington, DC (http://www.brandongreenandassociates.com) and find the whole subject fascinating. While it a lot of people consider it stuff, there's certainly room for all types in this city.

Decent Taste

I live in Alexandria and have gone to that shop. I think it is well done and takes nothing away from Old Towne. The clothing displayed in the front window is no worse than the Victoria Secret display in any mall.

What's the Big Deal?

Is a sex shop in Old Town Alexandria really a big deal? As they say in the NY Times article, while George Washington slept across the street, the reality is that "George and Martha had sex"

Apparently it is a pretty big deal in historic Old Town Alexandria, judging by how much web traffic my blog article from 10 weeks ago has received on this topic:
