Obama's State Of The Union Vs. Bobby Jindal's Response: Two Views On The Role Of Government For The Entrepreneur

Back to blog

To I'm a Liberal, Butt?

"THERE IS NO CASE" if you can't get past bashing trickle down.

Who in their right mind would think the Federal Government has the individual’s best interest at heart? The Bush administration had it wrong. Obama has it wrong.

The bowling ally analogy says it all. Gutter on the right, gutter on the left. Get it down the middle and we all win!

You hear what you want to hear, next time listen.

When I listen, I hear a President that believes that government and its glorious bureaucracy knows best. Collecting taxes and redistribution based on the Federal Governments whims. (A monorail from Las Vegas to Disney Land?)

Consider the cost of collecting taxes, managing the programs oversight, and the distribution logistics of the stimulus package.

Hello... why not use a portion of the stimulus package to take care of the deserving needy and the education of our children. Then, give a 6-month sabbatical on collecting Federal Income Tax. A Tax sabbatical would certainly help the typical consumer’s cash flow problems. And do it all while not growing the Federal Governments payroll.

Call it what you want...Liberal...Conservative...what about logical.

Bobby Jindal

I was really looking for something new that the Republicans would have to offer in their response. I am a Democrat but I welcome spirited debate and intellectual honesty. I got none of that, just the same old flat rhetoric. Please run Jindal in 2012. Do the country a favor.

Jindal rebuttal to Obama

What a surreal experience: this is the GOP's "star"? The same old tired phony folksy approach delivered in a tone one uses with very small children. He and his party are completely divorced from reality. Interesting that his pat story about the rescue boat in Katrina was framed as good old American can-do spirit and not as the complete and total failure of OUR gov't to use OUR taxes to help us with the most basic services in our hour of need. Man, I really hope they run this clown in 2012. He'll get his clock cleaned. He's about as charismatic as a wet sock and his willingness to 'stand on principle' and let his state's residents suffer by his avowed refusal to accept stim money just about says it all, I think. All he cares about is his career.

I'm a liberal, but

I actually expected more from Governor Jindal in his response. He's a good man, I think, who merely couldn't strike a coherent tone with the ever-same GOP theory of trickle down---where tax cuts or spending must always go the the highest bracket people so they can "create jobs".

Seems to me that Mr. Jindal has trouble making this case because THERE IS NO CASE.

We're beginning to see clearly now that Reaganomics was always a mirage at best, most likely an actual hoax. Upper end tax cuts do not make jobs in America. In actual practice, the results are seen in corporate jets, Swiss bank accounts and Cayman headquarters for manufacturing in Asia.
