What's the root?

It's TRUE that local government people can be nutty as hooty owls at times. Some of them take themselves far too seriously.

But when it's driven by existing business people seeking to limit competition or preserve a faux "character", well, that's another example of conservatism run amok. Electing liberals is the cure. Liberals will spend their time worrying about other things, like roads, crime, education, culture. That's the key.
