Napping in the Afternoon and Working too

May I suggest that it is unlikely that retirees are going to have 30 years of worry free life. Rather the great benefit of retirement is not so much that your finances are necessarily totally sound but that because you have a cushion -- of social security and hopefully other nest egg funds -- and no longer have to support your children -- you have the freedom to shape your life more as you want it. You may have to work but you may well be able to have work that lets you take a nap in the afternoon.

Our website, theunrulymob.com, writes about what folks are doing in retirement and where they moving to in retirement. We find ourselves by preferance writing about work and businesses that sound fun to do. For instance, we recently wrote a piece about becoming an Artisan Moonshiner in Retirement. http://www.theunrulymob.com/whats-next/encore-careers/never-contemplated-becoming-a-moonshiner-in-retirement-maybe-you-should/

We also did a story about starting a mobile bike repair business which sounds like a delightful way to spend your time. http://www.theunrulymob.com/whats-next/encore-careers/europeans-have-a-great-idea-for-a-retirement-business-mobile-bike-repair-shops/

Awake?

I'm retired, and I guarantee you nothing keeps me awake at night.

Staying awake after lunch can even be a problem.
