Now that many more of us are doing what we should have been doing all along, our lack of unnecessary (to us) spending makes the economy tank? Is that the paradox of thrift in action?

Or was it really that the paradox of low taxes caused too much of America's wealth to be going into the wrong economic segments in the first place? Why exactly was it that $200,000 houses suddenly became $300,000 houses there for a while anyway?
