Dick Cheney Will Get a $132,451 Pension

I BELIEVE THE PENSION FOR PRESIDENTS AND VICE PRESIDENTS WAS A GOOD IDEA WHEN USED SO THAT THESE PEOPLE WHO SERVED THE PEOPLE WOULD NOT BE IN POVERTY AFTER LEAVING OFFICE. BUT WHEN THE MOST WEALTHY, THE ELITE, TAKE OFFICE, THOSE WITH MORE MONEY THAN ANYONE NEEDS TAKE THESE PENSIONS IT'S IMMORAL AND SINFUL. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES ESPECIALLY AT A TIME WHEN PEOPLE IN THEIR COUNTRY ARE SUFFERING AND THE THAT MONEY IS NEEDED FOR WORKERS RETIREMENTS AND THE BASIC WELFARE OF THEIR COUNTRYMEN.

THEY'RE BEHAVIOR IN OFFICE WAS IMMORAL AND DISGRACEFUL AND THEY NEITHER DESERVE OR NEED THEIR PENSIONS. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE TO PROTECT THE ORDINARY CITIZEN IN THE US FROM THE THIEVING ELITE.

Disgraceful

I am a lifelong Republican and want to continue to be a Republican - but all I can say about Dick Cheney is that what he has done to our party and to America would make Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Robert Taft turn in their graves. It is horrible that the secretive Gestapo actions of this man have been attached to the entire old conservative movement and to conservative candidates.

We are about limited government not big government. We are about realistic foreign policy, not militant idealism. We are for fiscal responsibility, not creating new programs while failing to fund them. We are for morality and values, not personal destruction and lies. I hope America and our party moves forward - I don't think Cheney should be prosecuted, but I do think that they should see if we can deprive him of his welfare check.

Alas, I am to blame as I voted for Bush, because there were no viable options for a Conservative to vote for that had a chance of winning. I knew there were going to be problems when the head of Bush's VP selection committee selected himself for the job. Shame on you Dick Cheney. And I guess shame on me for believing your empty rhetoric about fiscal responsibility, national defense, and moral values while you subverted these things.
