Boomers may not just "follow" the old trend

Everybody who has ever visited nursing homes or learned anything about their current costs wants to "avoid" being in one. Boomers will be the generation that "avoids" them the most, primarily due to lack of resources. You will see more seniors "buddying up" in some fashion to take care of each other (especially those with less family) and, you will sadly see more suicide among seniors with dwindling options. (I'm NOT recommending senior suicide, but I am predicting we will see more of it in the next 30 years unless we modify our current either/or model of $75,000 a year care from a corporation or Medicaid after poverty. For those in the "middle" with "some" (but not much) resources, the pain of so quickly losing everything that's left and becoming "a burden" will drive many to a sudden brink.) So we might want to be thinking how we of society plan to prevent that.

Long term care

My wife and I are telling our 5 and 7 year old sons that we took care of them when they were young and they will need to help us out when we get old. Hopefully this will help them think about us as we get older.
