Planning to Work During Retirement

Yes, because Social Security is not enough to pay necessary bills although it came at a time when I needed money but I dread the thought of having to have something repaired. I lost my job over a year ago when the company was sold and have not worked since.

What are we to do?

retirement

I took early retirement(62)with a part time job.I let my health care expire then I was ill. This past month I had pneumonia and now I can't even pay my bills.Soon as I am able I plan on going back to work to supplement my income, hopefully that will stave the wolves of big brother off long enough so they won't take my home and land to repay benefits I have received from them during this crisis.

BAD PLANING,HIND SITE 20/20

Retirement?

It is a impossiblity to consider retirement

The area I live in has become unsafe but although I have a mortgage to consider am with a party who wants to move someplace else to start over basically just the 2 of us away from youngest child and x-wife so will have all the now present regular bills to pay plus a new mortgage and new ? to work on. It comes down to what is retirement. Know my monthly social security check helps but it not enough to last through my regular expenses least for the whole month figuring car expenses including insurance, gas and a ? questionable breakdown problem along with food and other pesonal needs.

Do you plan to work after retirement.YES!!!!!

I am being outsourced after 19 years and plan to find some other type of business that hopefully will nt go the way of the four winds. I am only 55 and have a long way to go to be fully retired(ha-ha) if possible.

Retirement

I will have to work for at least 10 more years and I have been employed at the same place for almost 37 years already. I just hope they don't get their brom out before I can afford to retirement. Insurance is my mine reason for continuing to work. I started working early so i still have at least 4 more years to be eligible for Medicare. - N.Rose, SC

"retired" LPN

I recently was "let go" from a nursing position I had held foe nearly 23 years. I am 56 1/2 years old. Although I can't prove it, I feel I was fired because I was the nurse highest in seniority... past the "retirement" age for our pension... President of the Labor union that represented the nursing home.. in the middle of negotiations for a new contract.. Sad, isn't it? I was fortunate to find a position with an assisted living facility that pays almost as well as the facility I left and will offer me health insurance from the same company as what I had at my former employer. not only that, But I am entitled to a hefty pension from my former employer Although it looks like I will be ok.. it truly was scary for awhile....

I plan to work during retirement. Yes

I could not work toward my 65th birthday, my retirement age for me but was dismissed from my job as an Administrative Assistant. They informed me that I would have to train a younger person before I left. This I did and the new hire and I became the best of friends. In fact, I knew some of her relatives.

I am behind in my car payment, etc because I took a lower paying job and I decided to apply for my social security. Yes, I will be working for awhile.

Retirement Plans on Hold

I'll be forced to work till I drop if I can get back to work. I've been laid off since August 31, 2008. For a 58 year old looking for work is a full time job. The wet blue leather processing plant I worked at for fourteen years is now controlled/owned by a bank. Due to a lack of or poor management I look for them to lock the doors by the first of the year.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.
