my wife lost ssi,when I got my ss back 1999- why?

My Wife got SSI IN 1994,BUT IT WAS ALL TAKEN AWAY WHEN IN 1999 I GOT MT SS.She was getting $494.00.I,WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE BEEN

GETTING $612.OO A MONTH?But my first SS payent was $589--not what was on the paper I recieved.

THIS YEAR FOR 2008 OUR COMBINED TOTAL FOR A MONTH TOTALS $1536.00 FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR BUT THE TWO CHILDREN WHO ARE GRAND CHILDREN,WERE ADOPTED BY US AND OUR GETTING SS FROM ME,AS IS MY WIFE.THEIR TOTAL FOR ALL THREE OF THEM IS $380.00.

$1156.00+380= $1536.00.

My name is Lucy Gamble and I am thinking about retiring real early. I am 30 years of age. Do I have to wait until I'm sixty years of age to recieve benefits? I hope not
