How the Washington Mutual Takeover Will Affect Consumers

Mortgage Payment

Washington Mutual has been still taking my mortgage payment out of my checking account, but Chase said that my housenote is 2 months behind. There are no checks and balances, and I am not paying any late fees due to their mistakes. When I called in about it, nobody would listen, and I was treated very badly and was disrespected.

statements

The very last statement that I received re my cheking account covered only March 17, 2009. Since that time no statement came to me from WaMu-Chase. I don't know what to do !!!

Disgusted

I Have had Two credit cards with Wamu for the past two years. I have always made my payments on time and pay more than the minimum amount. I looked at the accounts today and the interest rate jumped from 9.9% to 29.9%. I didn't get a letter or anything stating that the interest rate would change. I was just wondering if anyone has had a problem with this?

Ref. to previous comment: what was the posting error? FYI

Reference to previous comment: What was the posting error?

Last three digits plus the cents of my monthly payments has been $...530.47. On January 2009 payment was entered as $....503.47. That is a $27.00 short. Consequently because this amount did not covered the exact amount of due payment, my loan account became delinquent for the January 2009.

My check and checking account monthly statement for the period, as well as online banking and the bank internal transactional records indicated a $....530.47 written, posted, and cleared, that is, Washington Mutual had received the usual exact payment for January 2009.

All documents have been provided via certified mail, fax, and direct talk in my area Washington Mutual Branch as soon as I became aware of the issue. The rest of the story is as previous comment I entered. So where has the $27.00 paid by me and not figured out on the account gone (the very reason of delinquency). Who is responsible for this "fraud or error"? There must be somewhere the $27.00 has ended up. Either case, my absolute expectation is that that possible fraud or error are considered a Washington Mutual very problem; what I want is to clean the consequences on me. With respect HM

Re: Loan Number 0687115253/Your February 26, 2009 letter

Thank you very much for the attention and response.

Unfortunately despite my prompt actions and many assurances that this posting error would have been corrected and cleared from my loan account records within March 15, 2009, and impossibility of any adverse effects on my credit history maintained by the three main agencies, yesterday I received a letter from a credit card provider informing me of a quasi total reduction of my credit line with them. The reason is “delinquencies” on loan payments. This morning, I requested and received a copy of my records with all three agencies. Washington Mutual has reported three 30-day delinquencies. My credit score, consequently, has dropped devastatingly. I am really amazed how a posting error could bring such a consequence for your customer and be neglected to this extent despite it was confirmed by your department, and many other departments of Washington Mutual, including in-person talking and providing necessary documents to Mr. Eric Perzik –Assistant Vice President & Financial Center Manager as you directed me to do (Rolling Hills, CA 90274/Phone # 1-310-541-2518), as well as phone call from the same branch (Ms. Britney), responding to my certified letter & documents, confirmed posting error and apologizing assured me of no adverse effects on my account and credit reporting history.

Attached I send you a letter from my bank confirming the amount paid to Washington Mutual for my January 2009 loan monthly payment along with a copy of your 2-26-09 letter.

I would like the following actions be taken immediately before any further delinquency report will be sent:

-Correct and clear my loan account records of this posting error;

-Communicate to your Debt Collector Department about this posting error and ask them to remove my name and account from their records, and stop any written or verbal call;

-Communicate the error immediately to the three credit agencies, and ask them to remove the false reports and reinstate my credit scores to the appropriate previous position;

This posting error has cost me a lot of time, nerve, and headache up to this moment. I would like to have your help with a high consideration of the matter.

Sincerely

Hadi Mansoubi

Monthly Loan Statement Withheld

For the past three months, my wife and I have been unsucessful in our attempts to get customer service personnel at Washington Mutual to mail our monthly loan billing statement. When the payment is made late due to the absence of a statement, they still want to charge a "late fee". It appears that no one at the bank or customer service is able or willing to resolve this issue.

Perhaps a new crew showing up at their location to interview us will get their attention, or if necessary a letter from an attorney. Perhaps they are doing this to many people to encourage the collection of late fees. It is now March 11, 2009 and still no statement.

I am just trying to faithfully make my mortage payment on time.

I have several accounts with Chase. The interest rates are always lower than B of A matter of fact.

I hope that the rate from the account I currently have with Washington Mutual won't go up once it is taken over by Chase.

WaMu Checks Cashing Fee

Did you know that WaMu will charge you a fee to cash a WaMu check at their bank? The problem here is that the receiver of the check is probably unaware of this policy unless he or she has a WaMu account. This is a very troubling.

WaMu

I once had a saving acct with WaMu, several months ago I with drew the money and closed the acct.Now i keep receiing these notices that my acct number xxx-xxx591-5 has a current balance of $4.50 and vecause I am overdrawn they have stopped honoring requets for withdrawals from this acct. if it continues they may report this to a consumer reporting agency.

I do not even remember the acct number because when I withdrew and closed my acct I destroyed everythigrelatd to Washington Mutual. I have called two times now and am still getting these notices. will you please correct your files.
