Can Dara Obseessively Parent and be a wife?

I applaud Dara proving to herself for the 5th time and to the world that she is in UBER shape. Way to go, girl!!! I do not understand and I hope that she puts the same amount of time now into her daughter and her marriage and get a gold medal in that. Whoever her husband is and her extended family has sacrificed financially, spiritually and no doubt massive amount of quality time supporting Dara's goals. With Brett Favre not being able to retire and many others, I would like tohave more feedback on why athletes feel a need to prove something after they already had our acceptance and support?

Dara at 41

Dara is such an inspiration. We keep hearing that 40 is the new 30, but here's palpable proof that it's true! Also, Dara carries her honors with such innate grace. She's a great representative of her country's best qualities. And no, I'm not American.

Dara is a winner

The LA Times' Sport section Lisa Dillman, Aug 17. called Dara a Looser.

Subject: Appology to Dara Torres

It is my strong opinion that the LA Times's Lisa Dillman owes Dara Torres an official appology, by calling her a Looser. (photo caption). It is obvious that Lisa Dillman has no idea, what it takes to become an Olympian. Just getting on the team is a huge effort of sacrifice driven by passion. In Ms Dillman's own words: "She has 12 medals in her carrier", how can that make anyone a Looser?.

Expecting to see a published appology

awe inspiring

Dara, I was so privileged to be present at your race on Sunday morning and I was rooting for you, as with everyone in the stadium, all the way.

It was so exciting and I was so proud of your tenacity and unwillingness to let age or anything stop you from unleashing her full abilities and potential. Your determination touched me deeply.

You are so gifted and talented and I am very proud of you. My heart went out to you at the medal ceremony and your tears made me tear up too.

God bless you and I wish you all the best in the remaining days in Beijing and I'd love to invite you out for a real Beijing meal (American living and working in Beijing) if that works out.

Dara

I really like this very fine woman - yesterday she delayed a race to let one of the judges know that her competitor's suit was torn and to ask that the race be held up until she had a chance to change into another. Then Dara went on to win the silver medal. She is very dear - very skilled and is setting a wonderful example for her daughter.

One thing I've loved about this year's Olympics is all the evidence of sportsmanship displayed in various venus.

Get Over it Torres just won the GOLD!!!!!!! Congrats Dora

What is the big bias towards age? All media hype once again degrading others of a "certain age". It is great to see others achieving their goals at any age. It is great to see others who started doing triathalons in their 40's and are in the best shape of their lives.

I am in the best shape of my life at the age of 40 and recently got carded for my for age.

Time to wake up people times are a changing and people are taking better care of themselves and reaching higher potentials...

Congrats to Dara for bringing in a GOLD medal..........
