Planning

Attributed to various individuals (most often Dwight Eisenhower) is the quote, "Plans are useless, but planning is essential."

The power of planning is that it helps to identify the key factors that must be managed as context and conditions change and the plan itself becomes less and less relevant over time.

Essentially, planning must continue, outliving any written plan.

Smart guy. Insightful article.

This is a good place to note, too, that some entrepreneurs are actually altruistic enough to WANT to create and maintain jobs in a community. They are the ones not looking for a "liquidity event" where they sell the company for big bucks to someone who then destroys the jobs for profit (or to pay off the big bucks that were borrowed to buy it in the first place.)
