Going Home for Lunch: A Recipe for Stress?

Back to blog

I hate when I my husband comes home for lunch

My husband comes home for lunch, since I got married I do consulting work and in between projects sometimes I have 1-2 month break. He comes home for lunch I hate it - what the hell am I stepford wiife or what- but I think he planed it like that- he works 2m minutes from work in small company and guess what he is doing very well at work. So in nutshell I think it depends on person, personally, I dont like the concept.

Power Naps?

I've been fortunate to work close enough to home to go home for lunch. It was a good chance to get a load of laundry going or heat up the previous evening's leftovers. If it was a really stressful day at the office, I could take a short nap and recharge somewhat. Not something for everyday, but if I needed to curb spending, a great option.

Its great under the right conditions

I once had a job that was a 5 minute walk away from where I lived. I used to walk home, fix lunch, eat and walk back with time to spare. I saved lots of money and it was very relaxing.

Not an option...

I don't work close enough to be able to go home. I have a ~50 minute commute one way. However, for those times when you forget something at home or whatever, it would be nice to have the OPTION of going home.

Stuck in the office. Blah.
