Re: You Really Have to Take Care of Yourself

Thanks for the book recommendations, Jorge. It's always great to hear from people who have an up-close-and-personal perspective on career change.

You Really Have to Take Care of Yourself

Very good advice. Changing careers takes patience and endurance. I'm still working the final steps of my switch from IT to marketing. It can be so nerve racking.

One resource that's helped me take care of myself is a book called "Real Life: Preparing for the Seven Most Challenging Days of Your Life." It's a good source of fuel using Carl's words

The book discusses very practical solutions for preparing for and enduring tough, rugged times. I wrote a review of the book at http://www.careerjockey.org/real-life-book/. I also wrote a piece that confirms what Curt is saying about taking care of yourself at http://www.careerjockey.org/three-gotta-read-books-for-the-serious-job-hunter/.

Hope this helps.
