There was a young sign waver for the cell phone store near my home who used to wear headphones and dance for hours on end. He looked like he was having a really great time. Passing him on my way home always put a smile on my face. A great example of people going above and beyond the call of duty.

Actually,
waving street-placard signs is an art form for some people. They can be entertainers limited only by their own lack of energy, imagination and enthusiasm. Some of them get paid quite well---but not if they're silly enough to let some corporate-chain temp agency walk off with their gravy.
