Ignore the numbers, get a job.

This is one of the important pieces of knowledge that everyone should have and unfortunately, too few do. Statistics are good for looking at the characteristics of a large sample, and can indicate the probability of that characteristic applying to an individual case, but do not tell you, other than probability, how you are impacted by that characteristic and even more important, whether you can change the parameters to change the probabilities of being affected.
