When Management Gets Ambushed By Small Things

Systems

that actually HELP employees do a job well are always welcomed (after INITIAL fear of change) by the employees. They are the systems that grow and strengthen your company.

Systems that are put in place primarily to give top managers some promised "dashboard" and to create "exception reports" for the boss to hit people over the head with are the ones both you and your employees will regret. They rarely work very well at all, they can actually HAMPER your workers' real productivityjust to assemble unnecessary "management information", and your "use" of them (if you even can) will be a likely morale killer.

Systems are for the workers, not something else. Don't let a software vendor sell you a boat anchor in the name of "MIS".
