Seasons matter

I've noticed the changed season too! Sometimes, work can be seasonal, and companies may slow down and speed up at different times of the year. If it's a low time at work and you're bored, it's also a good idea to do some cleaning and organizing. There are often projects that get shunted or overlooked during the busy times and now's the perfect time to tackle them!

If you're back at work, bored silly, reading blogs (like this), and have time for courses, mentoring, trade mags, volunteering, and teaching others your job, LOOK OUT. You are way under-employed and under-busy. As soon as your boss's boss figures this out, a position elimination is quite possible. Yes, that's why they pay those guys the big bucks---to get rid of you if they can.
