You're right either way

Cynics don't like short and sweet quotes but I do. Below is one I've found to be real and applies to what GL is saying above.

This is real

The message is spot on - but saying this is one thing, living it is quite another. The last time I heard "We are going to GROW to prosperity, not Shrink to profitability" from a CEO several massive layoffs followed.

Like most of these common-sense-for-complex-problems messages, it is easier said than done. Put your actions where your mouth is all you lose all credibility with your team.

Would anybody with sense write a message like this to real employees? Would those employees wish they were working for someone else? This has absolutely no ring of genuine.
