Fabulous Advice

I love your list. It's brief and to the point. Anyone who suddenly find himself in this situation would be greatly helped by your advice.

WHAT NEXT?

Certainly this article is about what to do if you lose your job and there's very good information and advice within it. There are also alternatives to working for others that need to be examined as the job market becomes more difficult which it appears poised to do. Consider self employment. www.LikeSoup.com

But first...

On the same day you are laid off, do not go home untill you've tried every way possible to find some kind of work--even if it is only part time and even if it does not pay what the job did that you were laid off from.

That will not only help your self confidence, but will give you a leg up when applying for unemployment insurance payments until you do either find or create work to replace the job you lost.

BTW, the items in the "10 things to do the next day" list should have already been thought out and put on paper before, not after you were laid off.
