The Oscars, Recession-Style

Re: Larry of CA -- Presumably You Care

...since you're reading an article about the Oscars and have bothered to post a comment about it.

Yes, the Oscars are very self-congratulatory, but I've never bought that as an argument against it; nearly every industry has its honors and parties and conventions.

As for the attendees spending their money on leftwing causes -- uh, most of them DO. All the celebrities you saw last night do indeed have long lists of charitable donations.

Apparently in your world, winning an award and donating to charity are somehow mutually exclusive.

Who cares about the Oscars?

The world watches the mental midgets of Hollywood get together to celebrate themselves.

How about they spend THEIR money on the leftwing causes that they promote, instead of blowing smoke up each other’s butts?

But that wouldn't Hollywood now would it?
