ETF = Exchange Traded Fund

You buy them just like stocks through a brokerage account.

ETFs

Great article, I found it to be very informative. And while I see why investing in more than one ETF is beneficial, how do you know if investing in any ETFs is a good fit? I have a link there ( http://www.etfmarketpro.com/Pros-and-Cons-of-ETFs.html )that gives a simple explanation of who should invest in ETFs, but I am curious what you think about this.

Vanguard ETF

Interested investors should check out the ETF's offered by Vanguard. There are several that offer broad exposure through a single fund. In particular they offer a Total Market ETF (VTI). This might be an excellent choice for someone looking for diversification without a lot of work. Then they could add an ETF for the Foreign markets - this could be done in a singe ETF as well with the Vanguard All World (VEU). This again provides great diversification with low expense ratio's and little investor effort.

I'm sure other companies like Dow Jones' iShares offer similar products but it is hard to beat Vanguards performance, service, and low costs. I've had very good experience with them.
