Weddings in England

Only celebs and people with more money than sense have wedding planners in England. You and your Mum can do it yourself, its not rocket science. All it takes is time and lists. Decide what you want, source them on the internet and you are halfway there. ask your friends and family, about weddings they have been to. Decide on a budget and stick to it. Don't make Dad or you bankrupt for the sake of one day.

I just organised my daughters wedding and it was great.Go

Overdone weddings miss the point

I'm from Long Island, and weddings tend to be pretty expensive there as well. But i just can't understand spending thousands of dollars on a dress you'll wear once- or hundreds and hundreds on flowers that are going to die in a few weeks or invitations people will throw out...I know it's a special day, but it should have so much more to do with celebrating the beginning of the union of two people in the covenant of marriage than on simply making the wedding day "the best day of a girl's life."

(Can you tell i just finished watching Bride Wars and really disagreed with the picture they presented of the importance of weddings and marriage? Haha.)

It's a sham

I went $20,000 over budget for my wedding.I know everything is more expensive in NYC, but I often felt taken advantage of.

Luxe Life

Luxury is no longer the sole province of the elite. Upscale goods and services now target a much broader market. Kimberly Castro, deputy business editor of U.S.News & World Report, takes a look at the luxe life, from fine wines and cars to high-end real estate and wealth management. Though no elitist, Kim does admit a fondness for a bold bottle of Scout's Honor from Venge Vineyards and satiating her wanderlust in Europe.
