Gay marriage is wrong and should be stopped

What has happened in Vermont and Iowa is absolutely nothing to be proud of. It is also important to see it in perspective. What happened in Iowa is not some surprising acceptance of homosexuality by a conservative Midwestern state but the imposing of gay marriage by an arrogant judiciary that couldn't care less about the will of the people in their so-called democracy. It is not approved of by a majority of Iowans as all the polls show. Also, it's a stern reminder of what can happen when a conservative state doesn't amend their constitution to outlaw such marriages. Such an outcome would have been flagrantly unconstitutional in Texas, Colorado or Kansas.

As for Vermont, we conservatives put up a very good fight there and it only was barely approved. It wasn't a slam dunk. But while it was tragic, it wasn't surprising considering how liberal Vermont has become. Surveys show it's amongst the very least religious states in the union and it's voted overwhelmingly Democratic in recent presidential election years. It was second only to Hawaii (Obama's birth state) in 2008 and was one of Kerry's very best states in 2004. At least the governor stood on some principle and made it clear that opposition does exist in even America's most liberal states.

Luxe Life

Luxury is no longer the sole province of the elite. Upscale goods and services now target a much broader market. Kimberly Castro, deputy business editor of U.S.News & World Report, takes a look at the luxe life, from fine wines and cars to high-end real estate and wealth management. Though no elitist, Kim does admit a fondness for a bold bottle of Scout's Honor from Venge Vineyards and satiating her wanderlust in Europe.
