Catholics Unveil 'Unprecedented' Earth Day Initiative

Integrity & consumption

The "integrity" needed is freedom from self-satisfaction, from complacency, from taking forgranted what is gift. Why should citizens of the US (who are but 6% of the world's population) presume that it is fair and just to consume 20% of the Earth's resources? Truly, it IS a matter of UNsustainable consumption.

My error

Yes indeed - Skylstad is a Bishop. I was looking at the quote from Mr. Carr.

My comments stand however.

Ignorance abounds

Mr. Carr is not a Bishop.

God bless him and the USCCB for standing strong on Catholic teaching while addressing a growing concern for the entire planet.

We CAN reduce environmental impact and not murder innocent children in the process. So glad to hear it said loud and clear.

Lord, give me patience

' "We believe the problem is not the number of people, it's sustainable consumption," said Skylstad.' Must be hard to be a bishop yet have so little integrity.
