Dear Maura;

I read your comments about the use uf "Grids" not being practical.You gage several reasons for NOT using them.

Your "Whaat If" reasons are a bit exagerated.

If these Bird Blockers were made using a heavy gage i/4" rod

the front of the Blocker rounded, the bird would be deflected.I have done some mechanical design work.

I feel extremely bad for the wee lil birds wh o got died, i know! we can start a facebook group about buying new birds so that there are birds in the hudson river so that everyone can enjoy them! :) PEACE TO THE WORLD! I LOVE EVERYONE!! :D
