Vegetarian options cheaper

I agree with V. Pilgrim. Homemade vegetarian centerpieces and side dishes are a lot cheaper than meat and poultry based ones. And they don't take hours to cook like turkeys do. Turkeys are expensive for a reason. Breeding, raising, feeding, housing, transporting and ultimately slaughtering turkeys and other animals is an incredibly energy intensive activity. According to the United Nations, animal agriculture contributes 18& of global greenhouse gas emissions. Eliminating or reducing the amount of animal products consumed at the holidays and other times of the year is a great way to save money, help the climate and reduce animal suffering.

Even cheaper and healthier...

...go vegan. Skip buying and eating the fat-ladden dairy and the dead bird corpse.

Not only is it cheaper, it's healthier.
