Palin Changes Position on Climate Change

Gov, Sarah Palin

Some people of ractist devine will counter attack even when they can not admit that this candiate is no were near or has the ability to run a big city, and not even the United States. If I had to choose a Vice President, she woulden be in the top 50 on my list. What you are listining to is more of nothing. She should with draw her self from this race, by the virtural default that she dose not have a clue on what her job is, let alone the VP's job. As you start to learn her views, it will over shadow how she looks, and who she represent.

Palin???

If this woman look intelligent to you, blame your school.

What is the Evangelical Party planning this election? More of the same tactics they used to undermine the American system of democracy as in the last two elections.

VOTING MANIPULATION

State Republicans, though, have a plan to give the McCain campaign an edge: suppress the vote.

The chairman of the Republican Party in Macomb County Michigan, a key swing county in a key swing state, is planning to use a list of foreclosed homes to block people from voting in the upcoming election as part of the state GOP's effort to challenge some voters on Election Day. "We will have a list of foreclosed homes and will make sure people aren't voting from those addresses," party chairman James Carabelli told Michigan Messenger in a telephone interview earlier this week. He said the local party wanted to make sure that proper electoral procedures were followed.

State election rules allow parties to assign "election challengers" to polls to monitor the election. In addition to observing the poll workers, these volunteers can challenge the eligibility of any voter provided they "have a good reason to believe" that the person is not eligible to vote. One allowable reason is that the person is not a "true resident of the city or township."

The Michigan Republicans' planned use of foreclosure lists is apparently an attempt to challenge ineligible voters as not being "true residents."

The scheme would, of course, disproportionately affect African-American families in the area, who are more likely to vote Democratic, and more likely to be in foreclosure as a result of sub-prime loans.

This is just part of a "comprehensive voter-challenge campaign" Michigan Republicans are launching this year, which will coordinate with the regional McCain campaign to train volunteers in challenging those who wish to vote on Election Day. (Whether the foreclosure-driven scheme will be implemented statewide is unclear.)

Asked about the GOP's efforts, Carabelli said, "I would rather not tell you all the things we are doing."

THIS IS THE SAME TYPE OF THING THE DID TO DENY SOLDIERS SERVING IN IRAQ THE OPPORTUNITY TO VOTE IN PAST ELECTIONS.

making strong statements

For someone with such little experience why are we even listening to this woman? Not only has she made a complete fool of herself with her conflicting policy's on climate change that change daily she is making strong statements about war and nuclear weapons which is an area way out of her league and she wants to keep her nose out of dangerous talk as she has been doing on national TV that is broadcast to every country.

Steve, he was citing her previous WELL-KNOWN position, which she was flip-flopping on. She was being combative, so Charlie changed the subject. That's what journalists do, dear.

If you do Google search, you can find her PREVIOUS, contradictory position on the subject.

She seems like she's accustomed to whining and throwing fits to get her own way... she seems like a spoiled child to me; very full of herself as she goes on her Mission From God. Definitely not the type of personality I want in the White House.

Clearly Palin is no idealogue. She is a pragmatist.

Commenting on the evolution of the current credit crisis Jerry Grantham quoted John Maynard Keynes: "When the facts change, I change my mind - what do you do, sir?"

That quote applies even more to global warming -- far more unpredictable than greed, fear and the workings of Mr. Market.

Scientists, world leaders, citizens and the press all are modifying their opinions and approaches all the time to this phenomenon as facts emerge.

What!!!!

Sooo Palin is an environmentalist - like the pope is jewish!

Is the word "absolute" what is making Gibson a liar?

Proof-enough or is there a huge twist here:

From Newsmax, Palin: "A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location.... I'm not one, though, who would attribute it to being man-made."

Palin to polar bears: Let them drown!

Whatever Palin's true current opinion on the human role in global warming might be, her recent past actions have shown that she is not interested in letting action on global warming get in the way of fossil fuel extraction.

The recent listing of the polar bear as "threatened" was made toothless by the conditions the Bush administration put on it. Yet, even this toothless listing is being contested in a suit brought by the state of Alaska under Palin's instigation. This suit is being brought despite the advice from Alaskan wildlife officials that the polar bear truly is threatened by climate change. Ice is habitat for polar bears, and there is a clear physical connection between human-induced greenhouse warming and the loss of Arctic sea ice. To deny that this is a threat to polar bears and that reducing carbon emisssions is part of addressing that threat is willful ignorance of science.

Palin's willingness to ignore sound science on this issue does not bode well either for her support of a carbon cap, or her ability to address other issues requiring scientific literacy. Just like Bush , she will let ideology trump science every time.
