Drill, Baby, Drill: Breaking Down Sarah Palin's VP Speech

Energy

Again drilling offshore is not a solution. What about the wildlife, what about continued risk of oil spills? Lets question, why alternative energy sources are not considered more by the republican party? Well if BP is sponsoring their major events, does anyone wonder?

Clean energy is available, its free, and the technology is out there and we don't have to wait 10 years for it, only to realize that the price of oil has now trippled or quadrupled.

Bush and his people got rich of oil, do we really need to fatten up another Republican at the cost of the environment, people, wildlife, and the economy?

Healthcare

Medicine is social and 67% of Americans yern for it. Thank Ronald Regan for brainwashing American's to believe it is a capitalist enterprise. In fact, instead of being "scary", as neo-reganites weould have you believe, the more social the medical system, the better it serves society. Take a look at France, Germany, the UK Cuba, or Canada's medical system and you will see the benifits of socialized healthcare. at this time America has the lowest quality medicine and the highest infant mortality rate in the world and idiocrats like Palin would like to keep it that way while promoting oil and caol xconsdumption that further hurts the health of Americans so they and their cronies can pocket a few extra dollars while you and your relatives die younger with an ever lower quality of life. Don't forget, oil is a major reason for many of the respriatory and health problems people experience in the modern world. in Canada, for example, a country of 30 odd million, over 21000 dies each year as a result of air polution caused by automobiles and industry, while onle a mere 9000 die from cigarettes!

The republican capitalist agenda would sooner see Americans die than loose a buck or two. How American is that? YOu'll die before you succeed in reaching the American dream!

Sarah Palin

From an average American's perpective, government's ineffectiveness has become too expensive! How many federal elected officials are multi-millionaires? At last count everyone in office for more than two (2) years is! How many Washington top bureaucrats have compensation packages that exceed their equvilants in the private sector by two or three times? The one thing Jimmy Carter had right is that America can no longer afford to fly the number three person weekly to San Francisco in an Air Force 757, at the operating cost of $35,000.00+ per hour or about $250,000 round trip. She should be flying herself on Southwest at the average cost of $625 per round trip.

It has been said a little revolution goes a long way. If the American governments don't wake up and listen to the people, then the people will have to learn to talk louder and with more force. That is good justification for the people to exercise their right to recall any politian that is tone deaf!

Why Palin = Bush

"But the fact that drilling won't solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all."

That same faulty logic got us into Iraq.

"..oil will do nothing to ease our woes. Oil is a global commodity with prices set by global supply and demand, regardless of where it is drilled. .."

Price of current oil is bubbled up by greed and speculations. Bubble always depend on psychology rather than sound facts and logic. As the greater the bubble gets, the easier it will get busted. You already see the price coming down when the greedy traders running scare and take profit. When US decide to drill, it will be a huge psychological blow to the bubble makers and the bubble with bust and the price will tumble down quickly. I do like to see the oil price stay high a little longer so that the reality will then sink into more americans and that will promote more alternative source of energy that benefit the future generation of entire human specy.

Another aspect of drilling is about national security. Sure the price may be driven internationally. But it's also manipulated by dictators oftern and used that to bully the oil dependent nations. Look at how Iran and Venesuela behave and how Russia bully the Europeans.

Health Care

The answer certainly is not universal health care. That makes it sound good but what it is really socialized medicine. This would really destroy our health care system. There has never been a government program but that it was wasteful.

She was not trying to "comfort" environmentalists. Their vote will be split between the Green Party and the Democrats so they have pretty much marginalized themselves.

If the people of Alaska decide the want to drill then that should be their decision. If they decide not to drill, then that is fine too.

Your gas tank is not your wallet problem

Your health care access and financing is the wallet issue that will eventually leave you (most people and extended families) penniless.

Sarah may get you $3.50 gas instead of $5.00 ----about a decade from now. If she and McCain prevail, by that time, your health insurance will have probably quadrupled. Group plans will be gone and you will be paying a lot to insure everything EXCEPT your actual illnesses (which will be excluded as pre-existing conditions.)

Not only that, but the puny little physician network used by your insurer will have no doctors willing to see you for six months. Talk about rationing.

If you think gas is your election issue, you're in very deep personal trouble and too dumb to know it.
