4 Things Sarah Palin Believes About the Environment

Palin Environment

She does not believe in science. Does not listen to scientists on global warming. We are the only major nation who still won't sign the Kyoto treaty. If she disagrees with the data, why won't she say why. It looks like she doesn't read the reports. She wants to keep America stupid and uninformed. McCain has refused to vote in favor of tax cuts for new technologies for clean fuels. They are keeping our nation in the dark ages. Drill! Drill! Drill! It is like yelling for an old IBM typewriter in this new age of the internet. New, innovative energy companies (wind, solar) which EMPLOY people are being forced to to relocate overseas, as they still get no support here in the States. Only because they don't have the money (yet) for huge campaign donations like the oil companies polluting the world. I am no hippie-- I just believe in science!

Will Sarah ever speak?

Still waiting for Ms.Palin to validate by her words, as to why SHE was selected to hold the second most powerful position in the US. Tell us Sarah, why YOU think there is no Global warming? Why YOU think my Daughter should not have access to birth control, why YOU think that Gays can/should be "changed". Why You think we should continue fighting/killing in Irac...Why Sarah...is your rhetoric is Fight, Fight, Fight!, instead of..let's see how we can solve this...Same ol Republican pablum....sorry..not impressed. Not even scared.

Honestly, I'm sick of all the "Fighting" rhetoric. Hillary had my vote...Obama gets it now.

America is big business with all the right players.

About the same as high school cliques.

With that said and understood, wouldn't any business require a resume for a top job.

It seems that you just have to popular to become the American top executive.

You don't need experience any more.

When a president is elected there are debts to be paid.

What better way to pay a debt but to give that person a top paying job, one doesn't cost you a dime out of pocket.

I don't think this is what our forefathers had in mind for a government.

Politicians forget the are suppossed to be working for the public.

I don't know of one which works for the public.

I can go on and on but what is the use, it just seems that we have lost the right of choice.

If you have enough money you too can be president.

Palin on the environment

I think his pick of Palin is terrible, and I am a woman! Her environmental record is a sin. Drilling in ANWR? Drilling offshore? Not listing the polar bear on the endangered species list all in the name of MONEY is disgusting. You want real energy independence, try RENEWABLE RESOURCES. Newsflash, that's the only way to be totally independent.

Thanks to Palin, my swing vote is going to Obama!

Trying to be off fossil fuels in 10 years might not be possible, but it certainly is a worthy goal. I'm not sure why it's being poo poo'd by conservatives. I mean JFK also had lofty goals of trying to land a spacecraft on the moon. Without drive and timelines, goals will never be achieved.

To Jim's point Palin is an 'outdoorsman' and she certainly should have a fundamental understanding of her environment. However, I have to question her judgement when she argues against putting Polar Bears on the endangered species list.

To Palin's credit, she does seem to practice what she preaches. I just question her judgement on many issues, and I certainly question her level of experience to be "one heartbeat away from the presidency". Palin and her speech writers are quick to poke fun at Obama's start as a community organizer, but since his time as a community organizer, he's been a 2 term state senator and held a seat on the US Senate. Palin has been mayor of a small town, and for 18 months she's been governor of a state with a small population.

Sarah Palin

I was originally for Hilary, and not Obama for a specific issue, space exploration. I later find that Obama had flipped on his decision on about it, making it look like a better choice, except or that if he flipped once, he could flip again.

If I were McCain, I would have picked Palin, because she does have some issues I agree with, but her stance on many issues, she is firmly for or against, WITHOUT comprimise, if she were willing to meet on the issues on neutral ground and willing to make SOME concessions like on the enviroment or some of her other views.

I would also like to know what her views on space exploration are, to me that is what this election will come down to.

What a piece of work.

Palin

It is an insult to choose a candidate just because she is a woman and then expect that all the Hillary voters will suddenly decide to switch parties and vote for this war-mongering, polar bear hating, anti-choicer! Give me a break. Palin is obviously more of the same- the "greenies" are trying to save your butt from burning up on this planet- pathetic that you don't care about your planet or the people or wildlife that thrive on it! There are many many options for energy and I believe you are truly discounting how much we can accomplish if we put our minds, and money, to it! Weening off oil is the best idea there is- unfortunately the big oil and auto companies aren't allowing that to happen and won't be forced to if McCain gets in the white house- hopefully that just won't happen.

'places they aim to preserve'? ha! places they aim to destroy with drilling, mining, clear-cutting and logging. GO OBAMA!

Great article-also listen to npr's broadcast Fresh Air of 9/3/08 with reporters from Anchorage & others.

The GOP has launched a Karl Rove-style crackdown on news media in Alaska...an attempt to yet again control the message.

And somehow I don't think Sarah Palin is in any position to challenge scientists on the validity of global warming and potential extinction of the polar bears.

She's not exactly a rocket scientist, ya know?
