4 Things Sarah Palin Believes About the Environment

Back to blog

Sarah Palin

I cannot imagine a person with her beliefs as a major figur in our government. She will set back progress for women and the environment substantially. Wake up everyone- I am a women 80 years old and I am appalled at the easily the American voter can be spun away from the really big issues that will affect us for years to come! I just did a trip through the Northwest Passage and had a first hand look at global warming. I can also have no respect for anyone who has participated in the aerial guuning of wolves. THis woman is a disaster! We need more intelligence in our governement- Haven't we had enough of the " kind of person you can sit down and have a beer with"

Behind her new celebrity, Sarah Palin is an extremist

Sarah Palin has been a terrorist against animals, nature, and the environment. Here's a video about her:

Horrible person

If left up to her the world would go to sh*t faster than it already is. She wants to ruin Alaska and all its beauty for oil? That is one of the most selfish thiings ever. Granted it would help us but not as much as they claim it will. And in the process it will destroy the habits of animals that are already struggling to survive. Why should they suffer for our comfort? God put us all here to share the world and care for it and its creatures. And this is how we repay him. It is no wonder why the world is the way it is. We've brought our own suffering down upon ourselves because of our selfish ways. How long till everybody else realises it? Probably when it's too late to do anything about it. That is the American way it seems. Screw things up till there is no way to clean up the mess. It's hard to imagine but her and Mccain will be worse than Bush.

Sarah Palin

Sarah is the anti-environment candidate. Her religious views of human dominance over nature allow her to believe that Polar Bears will some how find a way to survive, or not--that's okay.

When thinking of Sarah as a world leader, I am more than frightened. She is a paper doll. Yes attractive. Yes a good script reader. But of no real substance. Growing up in the charming town of Wasilla, a town that has bulldozed those pesky trees, is no preparation for a world fraught with terrorists, ultra-nationalists, like Putin, and nation controlling mega-corporations.

The thought that her celebrity will give her the key to the White house transcends fear.

On the Fence

Well I am certainly concerned about her policies on the environment. It would be tragic if they began drilling in wildlife refuges. Tragic.

At the same time, I am very pro-life. You see, I just don't understand why there are so many liberal "environmentalists" who want to save wildlife from death, but will still support the murder of human babies. That doesn't make any sense to me. When I say I'm pro-life, I am pro-LIFE in every sense of the word...in everything that has to do with life...plants, animals, humans...etc.

On the other side, i just couldn't bring myself to vote for Obama. I don't trust him. All around, Palin and Obama both have so little experience (not to mention McCain seems like he's just completely out in his own little world half the time) that my conscious would not be clear if I voted for either one of them. So here I am stuck. i will probably not vote or vote for a third party candidate, if there is one. Both sides just disgust me.

I think that the assumption that people who are concerned about the environment and support the pursuit of cleaner energy are "Green enviro-whackos", as Chris of AZ put it, is both ignorant and insulting to Republican and Democrat supporters. I sense a tone in that e-mail suggesting that the "whackos" are Democrat supporters, and I suggest the strong probability that there are plenty of Republican supporters who are equally as concerned about the environment as Democrat supporters. Slinging stereo-types that have an undermining tone at best is not helping anyone, whether done by the candidates or this nations citizens. There is nothing to be gained from it for anyone. Chris from AZ should consider whether or not it would be fair of someone to assume and label all Republican supporters as "Evangelists", as I am certain that this is untrue. I think it's great that people have concerns, because it means that their hearts and minds are working to make this country and the planet a better place, whether I or you agree with their specific ideas or not.

palin and anti-environment issue

I am sick and tired of the double standard that the Republicans live by. The Republicans are the most nastiest, devious and manipulating people. Barack is a decent, experienced man that cares about people,(women, children, senior citizens and healthcare for all. I don't believe he believes in abortion and neither do i, but i will make my own choice and so should every woman that is faced with that decision. Stop supporting and enabling the bad behaviors of the Republicans. "The media plays into the hands of the republicans." Get over it cry babies, Republicans. If we care about our children and grandchildren bote for Abama.

Palin and the environment

I am shocked that a so called maverick for change would hold such low regard for preservation of wildlife, particularly the polar bear. Why would anyone not care to protect an endangered species? Do religious conservatives believe that God will come down and care for these creatures irregardless of our own human behaviors. In spite of Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth so many Americans are still in a state of denial for issues that are not so convenient or profitable. I can respect Gov. Palin for her right to hunt caribou and wolves but surprised that any resident from Alaska would not care to preserve the wilderness in their own backyard. I was also saddened to see all the cheering and hoopala over sending Gov. Palin's son to Iraq. I can't help but wonder if she will feel the same pride if he were to return with PTS Syndrome, wounded or worse. I would hope that any Hilary supporters are intelligent enough to see far beyond Palin's gender, good looks and uppity women demeanor to vote for the deeper issues. Neither party has really addressed economic solutions to the housing crises, and weakening of the American dollar. I suspect Palin will have the least to say about the homeless, underemployed and average Americans' plight since her belief is government should stay out of people's lives. Yet large financial institutions continue to receive government bail outs.

Palin and the environment

Thank you Linda of MD! You've said it all. And to the other Republican who is going to vote for Obama, I too am Republican and think the McCain-Palin ticket is abhorrent. News Flash for GOP: Just because Palin has the same plumbing as me I am not going to vote for her because she is a woman and to think that women will then McCain has just insulted the female population of this country. Some men must still think we are non-thinkers who will meekly submit to what the big man has to offer. Well, here's a flash: Hands off my body, and hands off my animals.

Palin and the environment

Apparently Chris of AZ has brought into the Republican hook, line, and sinker. All the Republican party cares about is big oil, making more wars that we cannot physically support, and now a woman who wants to take choice away from women. This woman is not environmentally friendly. Also, to add one more environment belief to Palin's slate is her support for aerial hunting of wolves and bears. Aerial hunting is for people who think they are hunters. A helicopter chases after a wolf until it is exhausted and then point blank shoot it in the head. A real hunter stalks the prey. This method of hunting is for.... I cannot use a stronger word. The Week magazine reported that nine polar bears were seen swimming 15 to 65 miles offshore trying to make it north. The problem is north is 400 miles away - too far for them to make it yet Palin is suing her dearly beloved government because it put polar bears on the endangered list. But I suppose that it is ok with people who have been led by the nose by the Republican Party. It must be nice not to have to think. With Palin's repugnant views and McCain's flip-flopping on issues that he had deep feelings for I guess one could say McCain too is being lead by the nose. Shame on him! And shame on the people who vote Republican. Remember, their agenda is not going to stop with drilling.
