ANGRY EUROPEAN CHRISTIAN

It looks like your right wing Christian wing has got nuts, really nuts.

What really uppsets me is that the label of my religion is being used over here in association with very immature right wing extremists.

Thou shall not kill... how many hundred of thousands people die each year as a result of pollution or lack of resources available?

Thou shall not lie: see Glenn Beck on the basic science of global warming. I would be very surprised to see a doubling of CO2 concentrations not increase the greenhouse effect. If you can prove it won´t you certainly deserve a Nobel Price

Thou shall no covet your neighbor´s house: the US uses 5x more resources per capita than the world average, most of it are imported

Honor your father and mother: by wasting the resources of their land??? by having a wasteful life?

Finally, tell me what is patriotic for a US citizen about increasing the energy imports, wasting resources for future generations of Americans and reducing the amount of wealth generated per unit of resources used.

Glenn Beck only proves one point: that ignorance can be a valid opinion in America.

Irrelevant

Glenn Beck is irrelevant. How's that for an energy saving comment?

Dear Glenn Beck Fan,

I do realize that the "for the children" saying is an attempted joke. But there's too much intent and math (and too little wit) going into this to make it effective satire - Beck has calculated the exact amount his supporters need to pledge to erase all of the Democrats' efforts, and is tracking it online. A quote from Beck: "I don't know why you would go to the website and sign up for this and then not actually do it. Don't do it because it says something about you. Do it because you really mean it."

And though you may find it satirical, the concept seems to be lost on some of your fellow fans, who should be the next recipients of your dictionary. I saw this comment on a Treehugger article on the same subject:

"On my drive through southern Mississippi this week a local radio station near Hattiesburg had a similar gimic[sic]: they had truck drivers calling in all morning saying how long they'd idled their big trucks in order to "onset" the DNC offsetting carbon. I'm really hoping actions like these are just pockets of immature ignorant people that happen to have a voice among other pockets of morons. I guess if it costs them diesel at $4.09/gallon, they're at least paying a little for their idiocy..."

So spread the word, Glenn Beck fan, to all of your ilk, that onsetting is satire. You'll save them a few bucks.

Dear Me,

Apparently, the term "satire" has been left out of your dictionary. Try looking it up.

Sincerely,

Glenn Beck Fan
