Notes From Al Gore's Climate Speech

Back to blog

Question: Does solar or wind work?

To me, it appears most of the people focused on Gore hate him out of fear. They don't really seem remotely concerned with whether renewable technologies can benefit them. Its like the parent who at the sinking of an ocean liner chose to let themself and their infant son drown and die rather than consider getting into the same boat with a person known as gay who was trying to help them. The question is will solar or wind benefit us not if Gore answer their deepest needs. I can tell you renewables can work in Michigan. Lucy Patrick has built a home (on the Solar Homes Tour) that heats and cools itself without utility power and is modern and costs less than most houses today. I've driven multiple electric cars...I've cooked throughout the summer using a solar oven rather than gas grill, - but, committed to not seeing renewables as a solution, Patrick's neighbors don't even know her home exists. Committed to not seeing electric cars as viable, some of my design friends at GM are actually believing oil will again become cheap and that no one in Michigan who owns an electric car is satisfied with them. Am I responsible for the change in climate - as a former farmer I know I have the ability to change the face of the planet. Do I, do we who can do such have a responsibility. Personally I believe we do.

Gore's Critics Wrong Again

The dumbed down critics of Al Gore were wrong in the 80s about the environment and even more wrong in the 90s and during this century they've had their brains washed clean of reality. The anti-Gore crowd couldn't find their own behind with two hands but they're still spewing their ignorance and hate. The same people who criticize Gore are the people who got us into Iraq and have been lying, cheating and selling out America for the past 8 years.

Just look at what Bush and McCain have done with the EPA and the value of human life. They're worse than the Mafia ever was.

Thankfully they're not fooling anyone anymore. No matter how many of these clowns post their idiocracy in on-line comments they are still going down hard for their crimes.

Carbon Collaborators must pay for the damage they've done - including the brain damage to people who just want more cheap gas no matter what it does to the air we breathe. If only the consequences of global warming would just select the right people to suffer...

Make Al Gore King of the USA

Since we need leadership in a "royal" way, let's make Al Gore King of the USA, like HRH Elizabeth, but without the "family jewels", meaning crowns, castles, artwork, antiques and of course, jewelry. (no pun intended). He can tell "the people" what to do next, to get the country back on it's feet, and the "elected" president can tell "the people" what the corporations are going to do to them next.

Maybe congress can build a palace for our "King" and all the poor and homeless can gather outside the walls for some soup so they can survive until things get better, maybe.

Or maybe we can have real jousts ouside the palace walls and get "volunteers" to be the real knights in the battle. Yeah, we can "anoint" warriors to me "knights" of the crown. Or since this is the USA, maybe we should "day" them instead.

Anywho. I want Al Gore to declare himself the KING OF THE USA

because history tells me a benevolent dictator (king) is better than a corrupt democracy. Now I see it all very clearly.....

Anybody agree? KOTUS AL GORE

If it's not a solution, What is?

The guy maybe self righteous, but what has maintaining the status quo done for us, regarding our current energy plan. I don't know about you, I'm not really enjoying paying $4/gal. for fuel; or having to put up with the trickle down affect it's having on everything else that is or has become a necessity to live.

GORE'S SHOT AT THE MOON

What I can see is that there are a lot of people who look old and reactionary; where I can see opportunity. They only see loss and cost. If Americans doesn't take the lead in this field, somebody else will. It seems that yet again America will miss a great opportunity and lose yet another (huge) market. The future belongs to those who can see opportunities. Evidently, these critics are not among them. If our ancestors had practiced this brand of foresight we would still be burning whale blubber for light and paying through the nose for the last whale. I'm sorry to say that the future of energy is not in that 19th century oil based technology. There may be money to be made for the oil industry in this dwindling resource. I don’t foresee prosperity battling with China, India, and the rest of the world for dwindling oil resources. The market volatility and inherent restraints posed by an oil economy will stagnate, if not kill, any chance of prosperity for the rest of the economy. It is asinine supporting an industry which should be resigned to the annals of history. Oil is bad for national security, bad for the long-term growth and independence of the United States, and detrimental to the health and well-being of the rest of the economy. Get with the program.

Abolition of fossil Fuels everywhere

THE END OF THE DINOSAUR CIVILIZATION (FOSSIL FUELS, NUCLEAR) AND THE EMERGING CONFLATION OF GLOBAL WARMING, GLOBAL CIVIL WAR, WORLD ECONOMIC DEPRESSION AND THE EXTINCTION OF THE HUMAN SPECIES…

According to an old story, a lord of ancient China once asked his physician, a member of a family of healers, which of them was the most skilled in the art. The physician, whose reputation was such that his name became synonymous with medical science in China, replied, “My eldest sister sees the spirit of sickness and removes it before it takes shape, so her name does not get out of the house. My elder brother cures sickness when it is still extremely minute, so his name does not get out of the neighborhood. As for me, I puncture veins, prescribe medicines, and massage skin, so from time to time my name gets out and is heard among the lords.”

(Dr. Thomas Cleary’s introduction to Sun Tzu’s Art of War translation – note: Sun Tzu was writing at a time when Chinese civilization was embroiled in civil wars.)

War, Global Warming, financial calamity, starvation and suffering has become pornographic fodder world-wide. “The best and brightest” participate and profit by it regardless of their being on the right, left or the middle.

Chaos and Disorder are imbued and dispersed in our Knowledge-, Economic-, Climate-, even Wisdom networks of knowing. Politicians run amuck and Corporations have their blinders on to everything except what legally they are obligated to do – that is to make profit above all else. (see The Corporation documentary - What is a corporation? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pin8fbdGV9Y )

Too late is it now for long-term planning in the phase-out of King Coal and other Fossil Fuels and Nuclear Power and Weapons.

All Tribes, Nations, Communities and Peoples must call and ACT for the Full Abolition of King Coal, Fossil Fuels, Nuclear Power and Weapons immediately.

Abolition of King Coal, Fossil Fuels and Nuclear power and Weapons Everywhere!

Call for the Abolition in your community now-

Stop the Global Warming Machines!

Stop the Coming Genocides - Food/Water/Energy Chaos!

Divest from King coal

Shoot the messenger

I've been reading comments on different sites all day about people's dislike for Al Gore. Go listen to the speech on YouTube and listen to the message. While countries overseas are being innovative with renewable energy, we are talking about offshore drilling. Oil is finite. Renewables are the future. We are getting left behind and are missing the opportunity to be leaders in the next big market. Gore offers a bold plan and it makes sense on a lot of levels.

of OH @ Jul 17, 2008 18:03:20 PM

thanks Al

There comes a time when quick fixes don't work anymore. People made fun of Carter when he tried to chart a long tern plan to get us off foreign oil. Gore's proposal is win win for America. Plow our money back into domestic green infrastructure, rather than middle East high rises. Stop taxing work and employment, that America needs, instead tax the Carbon sources that are bankkrupting both our economy and the world's ecology.
