What Bankruptcy Means for GM Customers

Leases

We were in a four year lease with Pontiac when my fiance called to see what options were available to us. What Pontiac did was send us papers to renew our aggreement with them in a different manner. The NEW agreement was that our payment was lowered by $100 per month and that WE now own the vehicle, meaning the lease was terminated.

They are all so much better

I've been in the auto industry working with major suppliers since the early 90's. The cars are much better. Repair frequency is much better. That's why Warranty periods are no longer 12 months/ 12,000 miles.

So the Ford, GM and yes even the Chrysler is better then the Honda's and Toyota's of the past. GM and Ford have continued to knock on the door and get better and better ratings from Consumer's Report and JD Powers survey results.

Remember all auto makers build great cars that never break. All auto makers build cars that stink and break a lot. At the end of the day, the Consumer's Report's and JD Powers Surveys rely on statics, ie the precentage of cars with a problem. You take any one specific car like the one you buy, and you could get a trouble free 500,000 miles or nothing but trouble from the first month of ownership.

If you do have bad experiences, do you maintain your vehicle, do you wash it once in a while and take care of it, or do you find every pot hole and hit curbs every day? If you abuse any car, its going to break.

The roads in Michigan stink. Full of pot holes and just plain bad. One study showed Michigan residents pay 450 dollars extra per year on tire and suspension repairs because the vehicles just get abused on a normal commute to work. I know I lived there for 5 years. Thank God for the company car, never had a dime out of my pocket, but the vehicles did get beat up.

Good motoring. Take care of your car and it takes care of you.

toyota is 50% better?

I'm not sure where mike xx got his numbers but I would challenge them. GM has made vehicles as good as Toyota for years. All vehicles have problems and I'm amazed at the Toyota owner that will spend $1000 om normal service and not blink and the Chevy owner that moans over a $32 oil change... go figure. Then that same Chevy owner will bash GM because his engine died at 180K miles.

Government Motors

Our present two vehicles have been excellent. The previous three were too. Two have been Hondas. Two have been GMC Yukons. One was a Jeep Grand Cherokee. But I am so disgusted with what the Obama administrations has done with GM and Chrysler that I will likely never even consider a vehicle made by either company again. It's my view that both restructurings are completely illegal under current law and most likely unconstitutional.

The America Economy with GMC a part of it1

This present despicable postion America is in, is nothimg but the masterpiece of that corrupt nest right there in Washington D. C. To blame one party over this present condition is the greatest lie ever, especially comming from so-called: Conservatives. They know it all now, but where were in times past, asleep like zombies?

It says a lot about my Republican Party for sending Ron Paul to hell, but choosing a guy like McCain! I voted for him simply because he stood square with the Founding Fathers. If the were to rise and start speaking out, they would immediately considered dangerous and arrested and send to Guantanamo to waterboarder. Yes, because most born American know little if any who the were and what legacy they left for America.

What has ever happened to this wise counsel?: "Overgrown military establishments are under any form of governemnt inauspicious to liberty and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to Republican liberty". By George Washington. Is that what America is really all about it today?

What has ever happened to this wise counsel?: "No pecuniary consideration is more urgent than the regular redemption and discharge of the public debt: on none can delay be more injurious or an economy of time more valuable". By George Washington. Is all well now with the National Debt now reaching up to 100 trillion dollars as some reports indicate?

Wht has ever happened to this wise counself?: "The principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, in the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale" By Thomas Jefferson. I guess one con safely state that this swindling as been in place for many decades, no matter who sat in the Oval Office. As a matter of facts, George W. second only to LBJ in spending.

What has ever happened to this wise counsel?: "Peace, commerce, and honest frienship with all nations, entangling alliances with none". By Thomas Jefferson. So now guns is the way America deals with the world, right? On the road to hell like all previous Empires!

GM DOWNFALL

THE DOWNFALL OF GM IS DIRECTLY LINKED TO PEOPLE WITH THE SAME THINKING AND ACTIONS AS THE PERSON WHO WROTE ABOUT SARAH PALIN ????NARROW MINDED CONSERVATIVES WEARING BLINKERS<HERE ARE SOME FACTS.

1.TOYOTA BUILD A CAR IN 50% OF THE TIME AT 50% OF THE COST OF GM

2.TOYOTA BUILD BETTER QUALITY CARS AT 50% OF THE COST OF GM

3.TOYOTA BUILD A SAFER CAR THAN GM AT 50% OF THE COST OF GM

UNTIL GM STARTS TO BECOME THE INNOVATIVE ENGINEERING COMPANY IT ONCE WAS THERE IS NO HOPE FOR GM,HAVING BUILT ASSEMBLY LINES FOR ALL THE MAJOR MOTOR COMPANIES I CAN TELL YOU THE GM STANDARDS IN ALL ASPECTS OF MANUFACTURE AROUND THE WORLD INCLUDING IN EUROPE ADD NOTHING TO QUALITY AND EVERYTHING TO COST,ON TOP OF WHICH SINCE LOPEZ THE THINKING HAS BEEN TO SCREW THE SUPPLIERS NOT TO DEVELOP COST SAVING PARTNERS LIKE TOYOTA DO,ON ONE INSTALLATION WE DID FOR GM MY PEOPLE WERE MADE TO WALK 1.5 KILOMETERS TO SITE EACH MORNING AND EVENING AND WERE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THE INTERNAL GM BUSES WHICH RAN EMPTY NEITHER COULD WE TAKE IN A VEHICLE NEEDLESS TO SAY NOBODY BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THE LINE BUILT WHICH IS UNUSUAL AS PEOPLE NORMALLY TAKE PRIDE IN WHAT THEY BUILD,THIS WAS IN 2002!!! AND WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS RESULT EVER SINCE.

Funny John Warren

Very funny John Warren of NJ...that is, you are joking, right? She's a Barbie! Looks good, dresses the part, and may be a very nice person, but the light's on and nobody's home - not much going on upstairs, if you know what I mean.

Typical of "superior right wing conservatives."

Hello,..GM article posts - not your personal propaganda.
