RE: Jethro

All of the products mentioned are well below the price of a foreign vehicle. Sure you buy a $900 sony laptop but that does not even touch a $25,000 Honda Accord

American Cars get bad rap, but...

American cars get a bad rap, but I think that the problem lies elsewhere. (Not because the car is American.) My family owns two Chrysler products: A 1994 Dodge Ram 350 14-passernger van with 224,000 miles that is incredibly reliable and a Plymouth Voyager with 166,000 miles that is also great. We also own a Buick Le Sabre with 102,000 miles.

Hate for Japan?

Louis M, you talk about pouring money into the Japanese economy, or any other economy, think about that next time you go to buy a Toshiba computer (Japan), or grab an appliance by Sony (Japan), or go to the grocery store to buy some fruit (usually Mexico, Argentina, or other countries in southern North America or South America), or even when you go sit in your Ikea chairs (Sweden). Your kids will play with toys whose parts, plastics, and assembly come from Japan, China, or Taiwan. Check the tags on your clothing. Do any of them mention the fact that they were probably made in either Europe or Asia? Where do you think your money is going when you buy all these products? Cuz it certainly isn't going into our economy. Congratulations, you're probably a fully grown adult, and you just got schooled in foreign consumption by a 17-year-old. HAHA!!!

cash for clunkers

the cash for clunkers program should be used for american cars only. its our money and it should stay here, why would someone take their tax money and use it to support japans economy? it makes no sense! there should be a clause in the program, american cars only, our economy needs it!
