Even With a Bailout, Automakers Would Still Be Running on Fumes

When the dust settles the bailout may cost over $150 billion. Easily justified when compared to deadbeat homeowner and financial institution bailouts. The cars will be all one color, lack air conditioning and comfort features, remain unreliable mechanically, be required to have high mpg (using new creative mathematics after car mfrs fail standards), and be more expensive. This is govt at its best. Design will include committee input from Washington including Pelosi, Frank, Reid, and others.

This takeover will be the model and cornerstone of the new "New Deal". It will be great because it will break America sooner rather than later so we can rebuild this country within just a few years instead of a long wait for the inevitable.

Read a history book. Everything FDR did was either a failure, unconstitutional, or both.

The cars are too big and the loans needed to buy them are too big. Americans need $6,000 runabouts and AN END TO THE PAST MARKETING THAT IDOLIZES MACHO, OFF-ROAD, CARELESS, DANGEROUS, TOO-FAST, TURN-YOU-ON, KICK-BUTT-IN-THE-DESERT FIBS ABOUT HOW AND WHY TO BUY A CAR OR TRUCK.

Detroit advertised its way to the crisis it now faces. And those ads are still running even today.
