Google Book Deal Can Survive the Scrutiny

Monopoly? What monopoly?

Hmm... there's a lot of competition for publishing-on-demand, and then there's the Kindle, the e-Reader, and now the iPhone; plus Scribd and the worthy and venerable Project Guttenberg. I don't see Google getting a monopoly here anymore than Google Docs has a monopoly (see Zimbra Desktop, Zoho Office, Adobe Online, etc.). If anybody's in the driver's seat right now, it's more likely to be Amazon with the Kindle (boy, do I want one!).
