Sour Apple

"Apple market share tops 10%"

Apple may be easy to use, but the market dominance by M$ brings advantages in number of available applications, for ex., which would be my main concern. I would prefer using Ubuntu to Windows, but I looked at the number of applications that I couldn't live without and abandoned the notion.

Apple is still a graphics and boutique brand.

Apples Deliver Bang For The Buck

Low price does not always - or even often - equal value.

There was a time when Apple's reputation as being "upscale" was probably at least partially deserved. No more. Macs hold up and stay useful orders of magnitude longer than any Windows computer, operate with far less down time, and just plain get the job done. They offer a cpu, the Mac Mini, for about $500 that performs at least as well as any consumer-level Windows machine.

I work in a library, where I have had an entry level Emac on my desk for about six years. In that time, every Windows machine in the library has been replaced at least twice, while my Mac is one of the most heavily used computers in the building and has not had 5 minutes of down time.

I would advise any working Joe who values his money to invest in a Mac.

Apple does it right

Rather than selling you a PC that does nothing for a price that a 7-11 clerk can afford that will be outdated in 5 months. Apple sells you a computer that works right out of the box. In order for a PC to match that out of the box experience you would have to add all kinds of upgrades and it would cost a few hundred dollars more than an entry level mac. Apple refuses to sell you something that does not work Hence the 80% approval rating.

apples lead

Yes but when will apple be affordable for the average working Joe to purchase? I say never.I think they would rather sell less computers to a upscale buyer than sell more at less cost to the clerk at 7-11 or a your everyday highschool kid.
