Microsoft conscious

I think that many people are what I call "Microsoft Critical". If it has something to do with MSoft or Bill Gates they tend to be VERY critical and often nasty. They just love to hate Microsoft. We would NOT have the computer market we have today without a widely distributed and professionally supported OS that has a SOFTWARE BASE. I'm talking about WINDIWS. Love him or hate him Gates insight and intellect are remarkable. He is one of a kind in his field. He was there at the right time and he made the best of it. He made history!

???

I doubt Microsoft can be THAT stupid. they have to know what they are doing by releasing such an awkward ad.

Mentally Challenged CEO?

Why would anyone want to buy an operating system from a man who appears to be unable to buy shoes?

Bill Gates is Great

Sure the ad isn't drop dead funny, but how many people really find Jerry Seinfield funny anymore?

The ad is odd. Odd enough that the iconic image of Bill Gates and the product he represents remain in your mind because you question the point of the commercial. What did this commercial gain. Well, here we have a critic in USnews writing a piece about it. I can bet that Sunday night Leo Laporte and the TWIT panel will be talking about it (largest tech netcast in listeners). Maybe the commercial is weird and odd. It doesn't really say what new things Microsoft is developing, but Microsoft doesn't need to do that. That's the point of Mojave project and the like. The commercials will really just be at least to start out with putting out the microsoft logo and an attempt at showing a more playful side of industry standard (really industries standard).

Gates, like archrival...CEO Steve Jobs HUH?

Apple has less than 7% of the US Personal Computer market. Windows PC's have nearly 92. Apple MAC has gained a bit to nearly 7% recently but a rival to GATES their NOT. Right NOW Bill Gates has NO serious rivals.

BTW, I saw the commercial and I liked it. Gates had some timing problems but i liked it. I think that people like to hate bill. It's weird how things get started and people just jump on.

I like the commercial.

PS: Gates Windows operation system(yes it uses ideas from other operating systems - so does MAC OS)created the PC market that has made and will make 1000's of successful people and brought us a computer system that we can get stuff for and have fun with. If we all were on MACs today we would all be great at video editing or publishing. Oh yea, and making fun of people who aren't...coool. I am glad for my PC. Thanks Bill.

That's my 3 and a half cents.

And on a more intelligent note...

Having seen the ad, I found it neither engaging or funny. In fact, it was disturbing. If it was trying to get people interested in Microsoft, Microsoft's image, Windows or any product or service from them, it failed. If it was trying to generate buzz, it succeeded, but like a dog doing its business on the carpet in front of a houseful of guests, there's buzz, and there's buzz off.

It left me with the feeling of buzz off. The feeling was, "I don't know what these clowns are doing in this shoe circus, but it's not funny, not entertaining, not enlightening and, as with the content of most clown acts, very creepy at heart."

Instead of intrigue, I'm left with a mild sense of disgust and the desire to steam-clean the carpets. Future installments (assuming there are some), will be ignored.
