Wet USB Drive -- Among Worst Tech of 2008

Liquid USB Drive

A thumb drive with sloshing liquid inside is undeniably eye-catching. That serves the goal of the folks at CNK Promotions, which sells the drive in bulk with a printed message or logo of your choice. But it seems like a bad idea for the technology. Assuming the memory chip itself is sealed and protected from whatever is splashing about, too many people shove USB drives into a pants pocket. How to explain the big wet spot on your hip?

These stars arrived with breakthrough technology:
Hybrid Electric Bikes
Geotagging Devices
Superthin OLED TV
Extra-Fast Cameras
Tag Reader for Kids

These duds included fumbles and foibles:
Blu-ray
The Linkup Online Backup
"I Am Rich" iPhone App
Liquid USB Drive
Bulky Motorola Cellphone

liquid USB

More of a novelty, don't trust any vital data on it. But good for promotional things, and for looks. I think its a great idea in that respect. Hey its great advertising that people are sure to talk about.

LIQUID USB DRIVE

I actually purchased these LIQUID USB's for my company which is a major cruise line, as a premium incentive for our return guests. They are pre-loaded with our cruise schedule for 2009 and are actually very cool looking with a mini floating cruise ship.

They appear to be very well constructed and sturdy. So far, our guests have given us nothing but rave reviews on this item.

We are even thinking of offering these LIQUID USB's for sale in our photo kiosks so customers can download their cruise memories

right onto the drive.

I give it my vote for "Best" of 2008!
