FYI.....Plaxico Burress The NFL Footbal Player Begins Prison Sentence Today!

Not that I have anything against the guy but finally these athletes might start to get it....You CAN'T just do anything you want and get away with it. If I get caught with a gun, I would have to do time too.

Just my 2 cents.....

what a Joke

the world is moving towered touch based software rich devices and this is a Joke

Physical distribution is dead. If they want to cater to impulse buyers at a retailer, install a kiosk with a variety of ports, card readers, BlueTooth, etc and let people download stuff instantly.

but dont build MP3 bricks

Economics

At $20, the player with it's AAA battery is eminently useful. Combined with a pack of NiMH rechargeable batteries and you have 60 hours of playtime.

The 1GB SD is reuseable, and, in fact, is likely to be only an initial form for the music it delivers. 320K songs are fat. Very fat, they contain more sound information than any of the earbud generation can still hear. Once downconverted to 192, or even 128 k MP3s, there will be plenty of space there to carry a thousand or so songs per card.

That is the fate of the SD album. To share its space with "friends."

Personally, I'm planning to carry a significant portion of my audiobook library and all of my minuscule music library on micro SD now. Thereby freeing a few hundred GB of material from my laptop.

I don't know about you, but my laptop reads/writes microSD. So do both of my desk tops, courtesy of a $15 multi-format card reader. It may start sluggishly, but I think it is last straw for the CD. Music in an easily transportable and transferable format is all that people have been asking for.
