IPhone’s Mishaps Force BlackBerry to be Cautious, Not Bold

AT&T

I sold my old ipone as AT&T promised me a 3g ipone when it came out. I was told thru customer care that I would be sent a new iphone when it was released. I live 125miles from the neastest AT&T authorised dealer and was told I had to drive and pay the price and when it arrived I had to drive back and pick it up. Well 500 miles is a long way and management at AT&T said i could pick any other phone so I chose the 8820 Blackberry only till the Bold was released. I'm still waiting for months!

RIM is smart to wait

I have been hanging on to my Curve (8300), waiting for the BB Bold to be released in the U.S. They are selling them in Canada. Some celebrities in the United States (John Mayer, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Hudson) already have the Bold.

As much as I would like to upgrade my phone right this instant, I do not want to deal with bugs and software malfunctions. These smartphones are way too expensive for me to be a product tester.

Before I switched to using BlackBerrys, I was a diehard Palm user. When I "upgraded" to the Palm Life Drive, I was greatly displeased. The thing crashed and froze all of the time--making it useless for work and a pain for when I wanted to use it for fun. That was the turning point for me and the whole reason why I switched to BlackBerrys. If the Bold turns out to be a total disaster, I may give the iPhone another look. I use my smartphones for both work and for fun. But when it comes to work...I expect it to work--period.

I am tired

It is time for me to get a new phone. I have been waiting for 3 months and I am hoping Best Buy oct 26 release date is true. After that, I'll move on to Nokia E71 or better.

Get the Phone out to market you idiots

This has become more than reasonable for ATT Customers like me. I need a new phone and the last thing I want to do is buy the old technology right when the new technology comes out (3G). I am a fan of the BB phones but this has been delayed since this summer. There is obviously something wrong with either ATT or the new BB phones to delay a much needed 3G phone. At this point don't care who's fault it is and I am sure I am like many other people out there doing the same thing I am. Due to our corporate policies we can only order new phones every 2 to 3 years so I have been left with no choice. After 10 years with ATT/Cingular/ATT, through good and really bad, I am really disappointed and looking for an excuse to leave both of them behind.

Get the phone out even if software updates come down over the next month or two. We can live with a few issues on early technologies but we can't live without the hardware to get started. Both ATT and RIM will ultimately be punished for this and should be.

PLEASE

I had the iphone, hated it. Kept it until September for the blackberry bold. Could not handle having the iphone anymore, so i got the blackjackII. I like it pretty well. But I am hoping the blackbery bold comes out within my 30 trial of the blackjack.....I will totally exchange it!
