Dead-End Machine Still Runnin'

Read your brief article with interest. I own a Power Computing PowerTower Pro Mac clone from 1997 & it's still goin; strong. Obsolete compared to today's computers, yes. But it's been upgraded to a 1Ghz G4 with 1 GB of RAM that has firewire & USB and a newer CD burner, so it's still serviceable for lots of everyday computing tasks. Pretty amazing considering the thing is 11 years old!

Old macs run fine on older OS

So if I buy one of these (which I already have) and cannot upgrade it at some point; I still have a $624 mac with the most recent OS.

My friends have hacked I-phones with non apple apps that run fine too. I guess I am an outlaw huh!
