Barack Obama, Stock Market Strategist

The American president on the American stock market: "The stock market is sort of like a tracking poll in politics. It bobs up and down day-to-day. And if you spend all your time worrying about that, then you're probably going to get the long-term strategy wrong."

Me: This is so wrong. We are not talking here about an adverse market reaction to the government economic report of the day. Stocks are off a terrible 30 percent since Election Day thanks to four months of sustained and brutal selling pressure. Week after week, investors have looked at stimulus plans, bank rescue plans and housing plans and taken little or no confidence from them. The lower the stock market, the more consumers will be forced to save more and spend less. Same with business. Just as the Clinton administration watched the bond market, Obama needs to watch the stock market. And the bond market, for that matter.

Economy rescue

I don't think the world economy's rescue will success without consider the world political matter.

Since the super power try to safe themself by throuwing the weapon irregulary and definately spark the conflict and civil war everywhere.

The government also should heavy punish the turn down economy crime, these white colar are so enjoy by cheating the world people.

obama, stock market strategist

It's real funny but I am looking at charts on any financial page. The market topped in 2007. Since that artificially inflated bubble, the market has gone from 14000 to 6500.

The 1500 point drop since election day is pretty small beer compared to the 6000 point drop of last year.

Are You Kidding?

Your right. Obama knows exactly what he is doing with the stock market. He is re-distributing wealth. How can anyone use the terms Obama and honesty in the same sentence? There are many people in the stock market that are not rich and have not speculated, but are now losing everything they have saved their entire working lives. And, they didn't borrow money they knew they couldn't pay back... like failing mortgages.

What liberals are misunderstanding is that Obama is not re-distributing wealth to help them... he is re-distributing wealth to help himself gain more and more power. The more people need to obtain from the government, the more the politicians are needed. Unfortunately, spending big has become an issue with both major political parties... It's funny, the higher level politicians of both parties seem to be wealthy off our labors.
