Geithner Resignation Watch: Will AIG Bonus Scandal Cost Him Treasury Job?

AIG BONUS GATE

( Excerpts of an Open letter to the 44th President of the USA, that includes all the traditional perfunctory respectful greetings ,congratulations ,that have been cut ( after much deliberation but without hesitation ) to save paper in a bid to promote environmental issues etc etc etc.... )......(many paragraphs down after all the perfunctory respectful greetings etc etc etc )....

“......Now I can ask you if all is fine with you that you now the 44th President of the USA ? I guess it is . Nice to be famous and be President of the USA. Who wouldn't be happy. But as you know the high office comes with great respectability ,responsibility, and accountability . But that is not I want to talk about now.

I just want to cut to the chase and say that all is not well with a lot of people that put you in the White House.

People are so upset and want to know why they should buy a lottery ticket when all they got to do to be a millionaire is join some mismanaged financial institution like AIG that loves to spend and waste tax payers money ?

Eating caviar and riding a limousine and staying in five star hotels and motels and eating in five star restaurants just looking good and eating fine and smiling every week all the way to the bank that sure is a good job that folks need right now.

Seems like according to media coverage that quite a number of footloose fancy free mealy mouthed stupid grinning camera loving politicians in the Congress appear to be getting rich from pork belly financial kick backs from who knows where whilst tax paying folks are watching for some politician with a back bone to clean up the mess. Well , no problem the media is gonna sniff out those sleasy eyed polticians that like to grin in the camera looking stupid like a Cheshire cat that just finished licking the cream off their whiskers .

My old head teacher used to say “....a person can lie 99 times but the hundred time they sure gonna get caught.....”. Seems like some of politicians smile in the face of the camera but behind the camera they trying to drop the ratings of the Administration right quick cause as far as they concerned they can lie through their teeth and look square in the eye of the camera and pretend that they are just doing what is best for the Administration .

Sad thing though is that it looks like these nameless people hiding in the shadows wanna sink the popularity of the Administration faster than water going down the toilet. Pardon me but it sure looks likes this Administration got enemies that are pretending to be friends.

Not everyone that says they are your friend is your friend and not everyone you think is your enemy is an enemy.

This Budget Bill or whatever talking about trillions of dollars etc and probably loaded with too much pork coming up is a sure elevator to drop the ratings of the Administration almost through the floor, why I don't know.

Just seems that the honeymoon is over. Looks like mudslinging time and kitchen sink strategy may be camping in your front yard to mock and bite your Administration and upset the 2012 reelection plans.

I know some say the honeymoon lasts about hundred days , but it looks like it is already over . Don't believe me but ask Jay Leno or those other comedians that I see you, Mr. President of the USA laughing your head off with just the other day- yeah you ask comedians like Jay Leno why ordinary folks are not happy with the way politicians waste the hard earned money of honest taxpayers and people that have been paying taxes and now have no job.

Sounds like I may be ranting but so what, let me rant on behalf of the forgotten tax payer that demands a public apology for this Administrative hiccup.

Ordinary folk that just want to work and earn an honest day pay and pay their taxes and do their bit for the good of the country are sick and tired of so much nonsense going on in those behind the closed door meetings.

All these nonsensical public speeches delivered with robotic precision, people are tired of pie in the sky trash. Less talk more action. Pardon me, but people want to see more credible leadership and less showmanship. More honesty, humility and integrity, good leadership qualities that you sure have and that people would like to see more of.

Problem is you are the 44th President and looks like some folk just dropped what appears to be a proverbial bucket of AIG sewage on the red carpet that you supposed to walk on.

People ain't got respect for thieves and tax paying cheats. And people don't want people to mess around with their constitution, their family ,their property and their dreams.

Thank you for your time. Mr . President.....( Closing paragraphs of traditional perfunctory gratitude speech etc etc etc blah blah blah etc etc....).....”.

Small fish/ BIG fish

Yes, and they all stink. Why slam Geithner when the real culprit here is our exhaulted JR Senator. Watch my right hand of disdane, pay NO attention to the left. $165 billion is small potatoes to the TRILLIONS already obligated by our BIG FISH Obama/Pelosi. THEY are the ones who should take this fall.

And as for our mainstream media pushing this "Big Time Scandle",

wake up and learn how to count. The Obamanist's spending spree is destroying this country. Where does our JR Senator's loyalties lie? Certainly NOT to the USA!

Readers comments are right on

John, David and Juan are right on the money. Too much privilege and secrecy in government circles - law breakers are pardoned while John Q. Public is routinely prosecuted. We need to have equal protection and equal prosecution under the law. Geithner has been a protege of the FEDS and international bankers, IMF and other organizations that have done a poor job managing the world's money supply as they milked nations to embellish their own assets. We need to replace these high level bureacrats with college professors who understand the system who have high integrity to pursue the truth. Put them in charge and have them rattle the cages of the international carpetbagging bankers.

GEITHNER & RANGEL TO BE SUBPOENAED IN TAX FRAUD CASE

GEITHNER & RANGEL TO BE SUBPOENAED IN TAX FRAUD CASE

Federal Case Alleges Political Elite Get Favorable Tax Treatment Over Ordinary Citizens

On 5 March 2009 a Motion was filed in U.S. v. David Jacquot, Case # CR 08-1171, in the Federal District Court, in San Diego, California seeking to dismiss a false tax return indictment on the grounds that the Defendant was not treated in the same manner as politically prominent individuals. A hearing on this matter is set for 30 March 2009 in San Diego and the Defendant in this case intends to subpoena Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner, House Ways and Means Chairman Charles Rangel, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, and others.

The Defendant in this case is David Jacquot, an attorney and retired Army Officer. He is a decorated disabled Desert Storm veteran living in rural Idaho with his family.

This “Geithner Motion” cites HR 735 titled the “Rangel Rule Act of 2009,” which if enacted, would eliminate penalties and interest for common citizens to allow them to be treated in the same manner as House Ways and Means Chairman Representative Charles Rangel. The Geithner Motion also quotes President Obama stressing the need to “treat common citizens in the same manner as politically prominent individuals in regards to tax matters”.

The Geithner Motion details how Mr. Jacquot was vindictively indicted in retaliation for his successful defense of his clients against the IRS. The tax returns of his corporate law firm for the four (4) years of 2001 to 2004 were investigated and the government alleges that the law firm declared almost $200,000 TOO MUCH income during this time period. The Geithner Motion contains descriptions of numerous actions by the government and Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) Faith Devine that are the basis for the claim of retaliation against Mr. Jacquot for his zealous representation of his client’s Constitutional and statutory rights. The improper actions of AUSA Devine have been reported to the DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility for disciplinary action and are currently under review.

Paulson should be investigated

So much of the attention right now is on Geithner (and partially understandable), but what about Paulson? That man should be put to trial for all of this. He's the one that spearheaded this whole bailout scam, and fought for "zero transparency" from the bailout recipients, and also for their rights to hand out bonuses, retention pay, or whatever else they want to call it. Personally, I think they should just call it exactly for what it is, which is "robbery". More focus should be put on Paulson too.

John of CA @ Mar 18, 2009 17:35:35 PM

AIG

Failure? Obama ought to cut Geithner now. Geithner has a credibility problem. Everytime I see him, my first thought is "Tax Cheat." The sooner Obama gets rid of him, the better. The public will eventually forget.
