Yellowstone Super Volcano

I am sending my thoughts concerning recent seismic events in and around the geologic location of the Yellowstone Super Volcano. I am a firm believer in the theory of global warming and although I do not think this has a direct correlation to any sesmic disturbances at Yellowstone, I do think this indiorectly affects seismic activity. Given that the Arctic ice pack is melting at an alarmingly rapid pace, it causes the Antarctic ice pack to be inodinately larger than its counterpart. This I believe causes an increase in the wobble the earth experiences during seasonal shifts and even though this may be a barely perceptible increase, it is enough to jostle the molten magma chamber within Yellowstone's super volcano resulting in the very many micro quakes recorded at yellowstone over the course of these last weeks.

I do not wish to sound any alarm, however I bvelieve the aforementioned ice packs becoming steadily greater in their differential as fa r as sheer weight is concerned will only increase acitvity at Yellowstone. Thank you for providing this venue in which to share my thoughts.

I might add that the bull-dyke Governor we suffered through at the time, along with the WSP

may have colluded with the theory and thus a "last chance to retrieve belongings caravan "was set up the day before. Open at 6am closed and locked at 6:pm

Weyerhauser ("The tree cutting company")and DGES folks had keys to that and other logging road gates

People were allowed in and told strictly that the road gate would be locked at 6.00 sharp.

This would help persuade stragglers and those hoping to ride it out from staying.

But old Harry Truman, who ran the lodge up there was allowed to stay

Not convinced

I'm not too convinced that we have nothing to be immediatly concerned about. The comments about surface animal behavior and ashfall hazard maps are good solid ideas that really need to be concidered. It's been proven throughout time that the animal world knows far in advance the coming of disaster.And as for the maps, I think we are all grown up enough to handle a little "what if".

I studied this type of situation at Yellowstone and if it does blow..It will be the "Day of the Lord" everyone thinks it will be nuclear but if this supervolcano blows the amount of ash will darken the sky and the "Sun will not give her light" and the moon and star will be darkened...stopping all photosynthesis and killing life up the food chain to us..

You either die right away or later..Take your pick ..move closer to Yellowstone or far, far away..

The whole world will probably be a death planet..except for maybe a remnant as the bible says..it happened before where only a few hundred people survived and we are all descendants of them...

come on...

Yellowstone is a caldera, which is the largest type of volcano on earth. Yellowstone is not the largest caldera in the world. Just because it's in USA doesn't make it the biggest and best! I hate intelligent articles with incorrect facts.

I wonder if anyone has given thought to building a geothermal energy plant near Yellowstone? I'm neither a geologist nor an engineer but it seems to me that a geothermal plant would bleed away heat and pressure from the volcano, thus decreasing the likelihood of a major eruption. Not to mention probably providing the U.S. with enough energy to power at least half the country.
