McCain or Obama: Who's Pro-Growth?

Back to blog

You understood nothing on "no growth" movement

"... The growing anti-economic-growth movement, made up of extreme environmentalists, hand-wringing technophobes, and turn-back-the-clock globalization bashers, might well see it as an indictment.) "

What ! ? What ! ?

Can you call New Scientist a "hand-wringing technophobes" ?

(they launched in October a special issue : special-report-how-our-economy-is-killing-the-earth ).

This article just says one thing : the writer did not even look at what means the "no-growth" movement and who are behind it : scientists, I mean those who look everyday on the REAL figures !

Your kids will not be very proud of your writing.

Obama's political education

I was born and raised in Chicago, that being said some of you will probably know where I am taking this comment. Chicago has had for years, a political machine setup by Mayor Richard J. Daley and controlled by the Democratic party. It has and continue to be the party of the more liberal minded individuals. It is my understanding that Sen. Obama, is a product of that political environment. It is a environment of closed door politics and in my time, a party of money changing hands for favors and in some cases, the use of various forms of persuasions. You have all seen the flamboyance of the Catholic Priest, that Sen. Obama has known for over 20 years and he considered him and a number of other colorful individuals in his circle of friends in the news. If the news reports, we are hearing and reading are true, and he was weaned and educated in the ways of Chicago Democratic party Machine politics. We are in for a major change alright, but not necessarily one that will be of Saving Grace. Be afraid really be afraid

America's Malignant Growth

Liberal America the new Totalitarian state regulates nearly every aspect of public and private life. Usually applied to Fascist Nazi Germany or hard-line regimes, such as Stalinist Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, Russia or North Korea. Totalitarian movements maintain themselves in political power by means of an official all-embracing ideology and propaganda now expressed by the liberal press, which is free to disseminate through the state-controlled “free liberal mass media”. Without any Republican back bone, in the current state of affairs, America has a single Liberal party under the direction of President Barrak Hussein Obama that controls the state, through the Liberal House and Senate, where Republicans have lost control of their principals, and have turned to follow a Liberal McCain in his spastic Maverick lead from conservative values into oblivion. Obama's personality cults, central state-controlled economic policy, regulation and restriction of free discussion and criticism, (don't use his middle name or question his policies, the media unquestionably follows his lead), will issue carbon credit cards, a segregate for the use of mass surveillance and taxation, while widespread Islamic terror tactics become rooted throughout America.

2nd to Worst

I only hope he is as good a President as George W. Bush !

Dick Cheney of DC @ Jun 03, 2008 14:24:35 PM

The Worst

I can see Obama being the next Jimmy Carter except 10 times worse. Imagine that. What a disaster

The first?

I don't know but Mallaby seems to be trying to justify his politics through a medium that most ordinary readers of the Post can't comprehend: "the economy." And he fails at doing so. Every business owner I know is afraid of an Obama Presidency, and I know they're not the only ones. I think any informed person would be as well. While he might not be exactly who Wall Street wants, McCain is certainly the best available option.
