Obama 2.0: Candidate Starts His Hard Move to the Center

Back to blog

Check out the flip flops... it's already lying to one's own self.

I can't really vote for this man who lied many times about himself.

Now he's been lying to American public by denying his initial positions on many issues.

I lost my confidence and trust to this lying man.

Obama's flipflops

correction:

I meant to say he called Bill Clinton a racist, which he did through his surrogates and nodded and agreed when they said it. Of course, he and his surrogates said a lot of untruths about the Clintons. Obama does dirty politics.

Obama's flipflops

Obama has so many flipflops I don't know what he thinks or stands for. Nor does anyone else. I hope he doesn't get elected. From what I see, he called Bill Clinton a sexist, then used his ideas. Obama made sexist remarks about Hillary, then took all her ideas. He said McCain was too old, but evidently not, since he takes his ideas, too.

The people I see benefitting most from Obama is Wall Street. He really likes the money men. He doesn't seem to care much for women as shown by his disdain for Hillary. And he can't give me that baloney about a "different woman". That is an out and out lie. You can be sure I won't be voting for him. Anybody but Obama.

It isn't new!

Throughout the primary campaign Obama has shown that he believes in the market system and entrepreneurship. He has combined this with a strong focus on fairness, economic equality, and investment on human capital as you correctly mention. Yes, the "issues" section of Obama's web site says "Obama will also make long-term investments in education, training, and workforce development so that Americans can leverage our strengths - our ingenuity and entrepreneurialism - to create new high-wage jobs and prosper in a world economy." I hope that you don't see the world as my thesis advisor at U.C.L.A. who, when I referenced an interest in human capital, accused me of being a "do gooder".

From the "issues" section of Obama's web site referencing economics. "“I believe that America's free market has been the engine of America's great progress. It's created a prosperity that is the envy of the world. It's led to a standard of living unmatched in history. And it has provided great rewards to the innovators and risk-takers who have made America a beacon for science, and technology, and discovery…We are all in this together. From CEOs to shareholders, from financiers to factory workers, we all have a stake in each other's success because the more Americans prosper, the more America prospers.” This was extracted from a speech in New York on September 17, 2007.

Finally he has said that it is appropiate for Insurers to be at the table in discussions of a National Health Insurance but they shouldn't own the table. Moreover there should be transparency in their lobbying efforts. This focus on transparency pervades all his discussions on the topics you reference. That is, all parties that are impacted should have a voice, all viewpoints should be considered, and the public should be aware and educated on these alternatives and ultimate decisions.

"Obama notes that America has increased worker productivity dramatically since 1995."

Just recently Barack Obama said he was not convinced that the "tax cuts led to economic growth". Is he now conceding that he was in fact wrong (like he is on so many issues)?

And don't count me in the group with some who think that Obama is doing this because he is going to govern center left when it comes to economic policy. I am more convinced he is saying this to reassure some independents that he is not a radical leftist, and, if he is lucky enough to get elected, we will get something completely different.

We have separation of powers

Making John McCain have "a long road ahead" is the whole point for the next 4 months. We need Obama elected for dozens of reasons. The Congress, though, will be the governmental branch that passes tax laws, not Barack as president.. His job there is to sign or veto, not to somehow craft all the changes himself.
