Russian Igor Panarin: America Will Break Up, Dissolve

Back to blog

He loses credibility with his scenarios

California will become part of China? New York will become part of the EU? Texas will go back to Mexico? Come on, that strains credibility from the get-go. These three states would become their own countries in a semi-realistic scenario. In a more realistic scenario, the US is most likely to break up along the lines of its historical Confederate states, with Texas anchoring the south. The remaining states would probably want to become more like Canada, and might decide to merge with it, or at least subsume it.

Whatever Panarin's motives: It's not a bad idea

I am an American and you know what? I think this is a great idea. We are not a single nation in any meaningful way. Nothing gets done because we agree on nothing. We hate one another, and with good reason as far as I’m concerned. I don’t want sub-human bible thumpers from the south having ANY say in how my country is run and I’m sure they feel the same about us. Breaking up the United States would be the best thing for all concerned. Let’s admit what is obvious: The Empire is dead and cannot recover—nor should it; let’s part ways now.

He might be crazy, but he could be half right.

The US has become an empire, emboldened on the world stage by the collapse of the Soviet Union. Empires are too unstable to last for any real length of time because a police state can only hold power for so long. Panarin's post breakup map is laughable and far from sober, but his message should be viewed as a warning.

Igor Panarin is an idiot

LOL.

Yes, it will split into three and Alaska with all it's common ground with Russia will join! Lol, I almost laughed myself to tears with this one.

I am not American, and I am not Russian, but my god This man with his theories borderlines insane.

He only finds a market for his empty words with ignorant people who think that the last half of the 20th century still exist or could ever return.

Igor Panarin is a donkey... Not even that. He's a confused, stupid, and desperate little man.

Mouths a Flapping

Mouths are always found flapping when reality comes knocking. Some Americans have a lot in common with horse biscuits.

It has already started March 2009 - Dont your see?

AIG (Chinese Run) is back for yet another bailout, even the FED can't find out who is getting the money or why. Meet The Press, Bloomburg.. all say we are just starting to see the bailouts, it is not ending. The unemployment numbers lag economic news 6 months, we can expect to loose another 3 to 7 Million jobs by year end.

When one in elven families on food stamps and government assistance can't get checks, many of you think they will just rally under President Obama or some other national cause? Crime is already moving way up, way fast.

The debt on the US Dollar won't bring in Foreign Investment. It has not been Americans funding US Debt, it is foreign investments. We are not in control.

Albert Einstein had a note about how fast Europe changed. Three long-time countries ceased to exist within three weeks. Nobody predicted that in the wildest dreams.

Fiat Currencies always fall fast. Last time I checked, the paper dollars are not even paper anymore. We just accelerate digital currency because the printing presses can run fast enough.

Get a grasp on the size of this debt. Look at your neighborhood for people who did not have a grasp on thier personal debt. Once they lost a job, things happen very fast.

During the Civil War, citizens still held gold and silver coins to trade. The President printed the Green Back rather than take a loan from foreign banks. Yat is in your wallet? A bunch of IOU paper owned by foreign bankers. It is very different now.

Break-up

The break-up of the USA is isn't plausible. The American economy is very divisfied, unlike Russia which relies heavily on oil. As you know some 8 odd monthes ago oil was sail high at $140, but know the Russian's face new problems with oil sagging at $40. The reason the Russian's pulled out of Georgia was because the EU and NATO put a noose on Russia's economy. The Russians are just plain cowards, whining and blaming others for their incompetence. Russia's will fall is much more iminant then America's. If you have ever heard of Gary Kasporav, one of the greatest hess players of all time, is leading a very large anti- Kremlin group. I know of no such group with such intelligent leaders in America.

For everyone who says america will collaspe, you are dead wrong. And don't tell me am consoling myself. Because history ALWAYS repeats itself. And no matter what Igor says, WE are united, and unlike most of the rest of the world, we will not kill eachother over over race or money, Igor has obvisoly never been to America, people accept eachothers differences. And to all of you who think we have killed innocents, no, don't tell me insurgents are innocents. You have no idea what these insurgents do to people.Jeasolsy is a sin for a reson, it drives hate.

Sam of IL @ Mar 04, 2009 21:37:25 PM

Hey, Igor, lay off the potato vodka!

The US doesn't have a unity problem. Economic, yes - social, sort of, but unity, no. Russia is a far more likely candidate for a break-up.

To humour the good Professor, let's assume this fairy tale comes true - that one part goes to the EU, one to Canada, and one to Mexico.

Well, we Canadians don't have much use for Putin's crew, and the EU hates being held for ransom over Nat. Gas, so don't expect any great love in for Mother Russia. That leaves the Mexicans who, upon inheriting a very rich, well educated and dynamic population, would most definitely swing to the anti-Russian camp, and would, arguably, be more hawkish about Moscow's influence in Latin America.

Panarin should be careful what he wishes for
